Home Tip
by Connie Dufner
Readers of Architectural Digest, stop here. A new book, Funky Shui ($14.95, Andrews McMeel Publishing), celebrates every bit of junk as an element of decorating and design. Like to collect? Try Happy Meal toys, cartoon collectibles, vintage Cracker Jack prizes and classic wind-up toys. Vintage postcards look great on a retro refrigerator (who needs Sub-Zero anyway?)
Another tip: to create a "clarity corner" in your kitchen, assemble and display seven items of the same color. One idea--seven cobalt blue bottles with a single daisy in each.
This fun book might teach you something about the classic principles of feng shui, and even if it doesn't, the pictures are a hoot and the ideas are clever.
