WHAT TO DO
1. Cut the gold wrapping paper to fit the box, then stamp it all over with the crown stamp and black ink. Let the paper dry.
2. Cut a length of craft paper to wrap around the center of the gift. Stamp it all over with the Old Letter Writing stamp. Let it dry.
3. Wrap the gift with the stamped gold wrap. Cut the edges of the stamped craft paper with the decorative-edge scissors. Wrap the craft paper piece around the center of the gift like a sash and secure it in the back with tape.
4. Wrap the wide black ribbon around the center of the craft paper sash. Staple the ribbon together in the back and trim the ends. Then wrap the red ribbon on top of the black ribbon and staple in back. Trim the ends.
5. To create the embellishment, trace a doily onto the red cardstock and cut it out. Glue the center of the doily to the card stock with the push-up glue stick. Cut out a piece of holiday clip art and glue it to the center of the doily with the glue stick. Hot glue a strand of metallic beads around the edge of the doily. Then stuff a piece of red tinsel garland between the doily and the card stock. Secure with hot glue. Attach the embellishment to the front of the package with dabs of hot glue. Decorate with shaped sequins.
6. To make the tag, stamp the phrase “Merry Merry” onto a manila tag using the black stamp pad. Cut out a piece of bird clip art and glue it onto the tag with the glue stick. Hot glue a metallic pipe cleaner around the edge of the tag. Add a few shaped sequins to the design with dabs of hot glue. Place a reinforcement sticker over the hole in the tag, then tie the tag onto the package using gold ribbon. Wrap the rest of the packages with other color combinations to create a trio of coordinated gifts.
Mix and Match: To coordinate our presents, we used wrap and ribbon in green, red, and gold. We chose the Secret Passage Key stamp and the Flourish Fleur-de-lis stamp (Hampton Art) to create our fancy wrap. Give each guest one special stamp, then share and share alike.
Stocking Up: Before you spend a bundle on wrap and supplies, hit your local dollar store. They not only carry items like glue sticks and staplers, they also have crafting basics like decorative-edge scissors and glitter. We even found our wrap there!
