Just about anything can be a fruit bowl, as long as it’s concave and fits on your kitchen counter. So why not expand your horizons with a worldly fruit bowl perfect for peaches, pears, and pineapples? Just take a trip to your local thrift store for a student desk globe (make sure it’s cardboard, marble’s too hard to cut). Then find a bowl to fit. Your fruit will be on top of the world.
More Funky Fruit Bowls
Get festive by turning your crystal punch bowl into a fruit bowl fit for a party.

For old-fashioned fun, let a vintage aluminum colander hold your farmers’ market favorites.

A little birdy told me that a mini birdbath makes a swimming fruit bowl!
Tidy Tip: When you set the stainless mixing bowl into the globe, do not attach it with glue. After all, that bowl might need cleaning someday!
Bright Idea: To keep your globe nice and shiny, give it a coat of spray varnish (before you add the fruit!).
Decorator Do: Make a colorful statement by displaying fruits of the same color, like purple plums, grapes, and black berries. Then add a little zing with some passion fruit!
